Donor Advised Fund
If you have a Donor Advised Fund (DAF), you are already aware of this simple and flexible vehicle that allows you to manage and maximize your giving to support Lamar University and other charitable organizations that matter most to you. Once your DAF has been established, it will generally work this way:
- Obtain a charitable income tax deduction in the year of your gift to your DAF
- The assets in your DAF grow income tax-free
- You make recommendations on gifts to be made from your DAF to Lamar University. You can even suggest that grants benefit specific colleges, scholarships, or programs. Please contact us for more information.
Did you know that you can use your DAF to build a lasting legacy at Lamar University?
Consider creating your legacy at Lamar University by naming Lamar University Foundation as a beneficiary of your DAF. Contact your fund administrator to complete a beneficiary designation form.
You can also create a family legacy of giving by designating your loved ones as your successor to continue recommending grants to benefit Lamar University or other charitable organizations. This family legacy approach teaches the tradition of philanthropy by involving your successor in the decisions about which grants to recommend. Contact your fund administrator to designate your successor.
